Karma yoga = giving.
When you fully commit to a yoga asana (posture) and meditation practice, you become aware that there’s more to yoga than the physical practice. Below is are a few of the organizations I will be contributing to in 2010. “Give” as much as you “Receive” from your yoga practice. Namaste.
Doctors without Borders – Become a field partner by donating monthly. Just $15 per month provides a month supply of water for 40 refugees
Soles4Souls – A donation of just $10 can help provide shoes for 5 people in need. Can you imagine not owning one pair of shoes?
Kiva.org – The world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe
WomenForWomen.org – Through a small monthly donation, you can empower a woman survivor of war
Giving: How Each of Us Can Change the World – Not an organization to give to but a great book to get you started with a giving plan. It’s filled with ideas and resources if you’re baffled on how and why to give. The point is we all can give something -skills, time, money, ideas, support
